Dear Dean Shiner:

	I have not the time to make as thorough study of the work
of Professor Wise as I would like to express a complete opinion
on tenure.  However, I have read the papers you sent me - one
of them previously - and I think that both of them are substantial
and useful contributions to computer science.  I am sorry I haven't
time to go further into the bibliography.
